These one-of-a-kind dolls are handcrafted from recycled waste, created by Afghan women refugees in India This collection from Silaiwali uses the production waste material from garment factories and turns it into cloth dolls via skilful needlework. Eco-friendly and ethically made, these dolls in their varying skin tones, celebrate cultural diversity. Each doll is exotically dressed in embroidered textiles.
There may be small differences in colour or design as each piece is one of a kind, these differences are inherent to the process and this is what makes it unique.
SILAIWALI is a social enterprise in New Delhi that upcycles waste fabric generated from apparel scraps to create handcrafted decorative pieces by Afghan woman refugees in India.
