Handwoven in Dala and finished with vegetable tanned Ahimsa leather, the Surahi is a multipurpose utilitarian basket with a strong aesthetic presence. The legacy of Indian handicrafts and believing in eco-friendly stature, the Dala is naturally dyed to give a rich dark brown on the outside and ink black on the inside. Tula works exclusively with a single weaver family in Cooch Behar to develop and produce the Surahi series.
We take pride in the slight variations in colours and textures of handmade products and hope that you will not perceive them as a flaw but as a unique mark of its artisan. We hope it brings you much joy.

By finding meaning in the little things and appreciating the imperfections and flaws that make things unique, they believe in looking for intimate beauty in the ordinary and mundane aspects of life. The core principles lie with creating heirloom objects with fine craftsmanship and timeless design that never goes out of style. They work exclusively with artisans and emphasise the use of craft techniques from the Indian subcontinent. All the products are slowly made in small batches and no two objects are ever exactly the same.
