The escape was planned. The two prisoners had gathered up their belongings, waited until everyone was asleep and crept out, almost paranoid that the alarm would go of any minute.

They were free!
They ran, hand in hand, greedily gulping the morning air which they were never awake to breathe most of the time. At the park, they laid out the picnic blanket, pulled out their books, and breathed for the first time, alone after 3 months.  In their hectic lives, they needed to steal little slivers of time to be the couple they missed so dearly.
