At a very early age, Surbhi got hooked to fashion magazines like British Vogue. Her mum worked with Air India and would bring back Surbhi these magazines from across the world. Having an interest in fashion developed at a very young age, Surbhi then went to England to study Fashion communications where she majored in publications.
“I like to pair contradictory pieces together. The silk Victorian sleeve blouse with leopard print denim; this is how I think us millennials will dress when we become grandmothers.”
Surbhi loves her job! And why wouldn’t she when it’s so much fun. Her work mainly revolves around editorial shoots, not only styling them but also conceptualising a shoot and painting it to reality by casting the perfect people for it, right from makeup artists, photographers to models. Her fondest memory working is her first magazine cover for JUICE magazine with Aditi Rao Hydari in 2016.
She’s extremely fond of art. She believes it goes hand in hand with Fashion, one can’t function without the other. She’s also a ninja in training who loves to work out 7 days a week!

“This suit is so full of PZZAZ. What I like most about it is that It’ll transcend so well for the evenings with a simple change to a slinky blouse.”

“A visual representation of how I would want to dress as a child. From the cute as heck dress to the beaded bag, bracelets, necklace with my initial and a scrunchie right down to the sneakers.”
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I love food, live-music (none of that techno, electronics stuff though). I live to travel and to work out. To earn a living, I work in Fashion, at Grazia, India as Junior Fashion Editor.
Who is your style icon?
My mom and oh, Rihanna.
An artist/fashion designer whose muse you'd like to be?
I don’t mean to get ahead of myself but Raf Simons, Phoebe Philo, and Rihanna.
What would you choose as your last meal on earth?
Pizza!
Vintage or Contemporary?
Contemporary
In a few words, how would you describe your personal style?
My personal style is very non-committal. I tend to not stick to a particular style too long because I bore myself if I put myself in a box. I’ll try everything as long as it makes me look like I
haven’t tried too hard.

What according to you is the next big thing for fashion in India?
The next big thing in India is sustainable and ethical production of clothing in India. It’s the need of the hour and everyone needs to be on board to attempt the reversing of damage we’ve done to the planet and our own people.
