Eat + Drink + Chill Guide - BALI

31 August, 2017

I got a chance to visit the beautiful island of Bali this summer and I came back exhilarated, rejuvenated and happy!
Bali is home to beautiful temples, cliff-guarded beaches, lush rice fields and a great choice of cute cafes and places to hang out in.

It can sometimes be a little hard to find your own slice of paradise if blissing out is your modus operandi, but if you look past the touristy spots of Kuta and Seminyak, Canggu is a quiet and cool beach community.

CANGGU: Think yoga studios, healthy cafes and a hip surf vibe. Surrounded by lush rice fields it is undoubtedly the coolest place to stay in Bali.

STAY

The Duck, Canggu

Steer clear of hotels as Bali has the most beautiful villas and home stays. Tucked away in a quiet lane, yet close enough to the restaurants and the beach - with it’s own wooden cabin room, outdoor bathroom + kitchen and an inviting pool, this picturesque Balinese villa is home goals!

EAT

Breakfast or Lunch at Shady Shack

Hungry and looking to awaken your cells!? This cafe is located by the rice fields. Plenty of shaded seating areas, tropical greenery and a great vibe make this a great hang-there-all- day spot. Think fresh, healthy and flavourful food. From the Nori bowl and the Onsen eggs to the raw Banoffee cheesecake, you will want it all!

Dinner at Dandelion

It is hard not to fall in love with this place. You can feel the warmth from the moment you enter this beautiful wooden, traditional Joglo that houses the restaurant. With it’s lush, rustic vibe and modern Indonesian food, this is a place you should not miss. A special mention for the service and staff who make you feel at home and are so much fun to hang out with. If you have a liking for fluffy animals (and who doesn’t?), make sure to pay a visit to the backyard where you will find Dandelions’ cute bunnies.

CHILL

Yoga Samadi

Bali has  a vibrant yoga community and some lovely yoga studios. With it’s tranquil surroundings and a large yoga shala built over a gorgeous pond, this is the perfect spot to relax and unwind. It also has an organic restaurant and weekly organic farmers market, selling fresh produce and even handcrafted jewellery.

Finn’s Beach Club or The Lawn

Tropical pool party vibes, with infinity pools overlooking the sea, a DJ spinning tunes and a cool mix of people. Best place to lounge in with a cocktail at hand.

MUST-DO

The mother of all water parks, this is one helluva of a ride. Theme park lovers, look no further. Set in a lush tropical forest this water park has all kinds of rides for thrill seekers. Head here for a day of exhilarating fun. It’ll be a blast.

ULUWATU: 90 minutes from Canggu you land right in the middle of limestone cliffs, hidden beaches and a friendly surf community. A gorgeous coastline and amazing ocean views add to this lovely place.
