With its elegant look and soothing scent, Calcutta captures the warmth and comfort of being surrounded by loved ones. The muffled tunes of All India Radio wafting through the room, opening a drawer containing your grandfather's favourite personal belongings, the soft comfort of your grandmother's saree. These vivid scents and almost tangible memories were the inspiration for our Calcutta soap bar.

Calcutta smells warm and comforting, from rich, buttery scented Helichrysum with sweet undertones, from Vanilla infused Olive Oil and a mild woodiness. This bar is visually inspired by the classic red and white Bengali sari worn typically during Durga Puja. French Red Clay is known to have cleansing and toning properties on the skin and when paired with accents of Gold Mica, these give the soap its likeness to a red and white sari border.

Vanilla Bean infused Olive Oil, French Red Clay, Kaolin Clay

Ingredients: Saponified Oils of Coconut, Vanilla infused Olive, Sweet Almond and Castor; Saponified Butters of Cocoa, Shea & Kokum, Natural Glycerin, Water, French Red Clay, Titanium Dioxide, Gold Mica, Kaolin Clay, Helichrysum, Lemon, Cedarwood & Patchouli essential oils.

Upon receiving the soap, unwrap the soap and keep it in a cool, dry place like your cupboard where you can enjoy its scent. To prolong the life of your soap in the bath, keep it on a well-drained dish, standing upright to allow for it to dry between uses. If you find the soaps are too big for your hands, feel free to cut them in half to make them easier to handle.

Essential oils tend to evaporate over time so we recommend using your soap within 3 months to enjoy its fragrance.

Please conduct a patch test before using any of our products. In case of skin irritation, discontinue use. Consult a physician if needed regarding using certain essential oils based on your condition.

Avoid using near the eyes. In case of burning in the eyes, flush with water. For External use only.

This piece is made to order and will take up to 7 business days to be shipped out. We know this is a long time, but it is a time-consuming process as each piece is handmade.

As a policy, we do not offer returns or exchanges on products that are delivered in perfect condition as per the order placed.

In case there is any damage in transit, you need to notify us with an email within 48 hours of order delivery with proper images of the damaged box and we will replace the damaged product. 

Please do not accept a shipment that shows signs of damage in transit. The quality control team will evaluate and then initiate a replacement for the same. We apologize in advance for any issues you might face and look forward to helping you replace your items at the earliest.
